dares-qt software package provides rescue files from damaged CDs and DVDs (Qt-interface), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dares-qt
dares-qt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dares-qt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dares-qt *
You will get with dares-qt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
